I met a traveller from an antique land

Who said: Two small and trunkless legs of wax

On a candle. Nearby, on a waxy plain,

Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose scent

Of vanilla, amber, and ancient stones,

Is random, but better than ‘musty tomb.’

It bears facts about Percy Brysse Shelley,

And Ramesses II. Two for the price of one!

And in the shop listing these words appear:

‘I am Ozymandias, Candle of Candles

Look on my wicks, ye Mighty, and despair!’

And that’s it! An odd, scented candle.

A sonnet manifest in wax and tin.

A gift? Perhaps. Do you have bookish friends?

Indeed, a Candle of Candles

This candle I received today, and lit
Perfumes my chambers and provides it light;
Its fragrance then ignites my subtle wit:
A sonnet put to paper I must write.
Oh, many household odors have I smelt
O’er time, and many candles I have tried,
Yet never dreamt I could have this way dealt
With loathsome vapors perfumes could not hide.
But, lo! The cloud of amber and of spice
Drifts outward from the brilliant flame;
The ancient Pharaoh melts, a sacrifice,
Securing in his death eternal fame.
The long and short of it is this:
Buy this candle and experience bliss!

One of the best candles ever. Love it so much, I bought two. Okay, I was drunk and forgot I'd ordered one the day before, but now I have two, so yay! ;)
