If you’re looking for a candle that commemorates the War of 1812, then look no further! Or whatever, you can keep looking if you want to. We feel pretty confident you’ll end up back here.

The War of 1812-Scented Candle has a tiny wax White House on its surface, so you can reenact the British Army’s burning of the White House. (The British also burned the Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, and Treasury buildings, but if you want to reenact those, you’re on your own.) The candle smells like woodsmoke, because the White House was made of wood (probably).

Note to Pedants: The wax White House is modeled to look like the pre-1814 White House rather than the White House as it exists today. That's our gift to you, pedants.

We should also note that even though the British Army DID burn Washington, it was only after Americans had burned and looted the capital of Canada, as well as a bunch of other Canadian cities. But no one ever makes a candle about that! (Including us.)

This war has everything...

Not only does the candle smell amazing, but it's also historically accurate, which is important! Took this bad boy up to Fort Belle Fontaine near St. Louis (which served as the US Army HQ during the War of 1812) to light on top of the beautiful staircase overlook that was definitely not part of the original fort. Yay history!

Imagine my surprise...

Eagerly I awaited the arrival of my War of 1812 Candle. Imagine my surprise when I saw the White House on the surface of the candle. I was expecting to see the scattered remnants of the Grande Armee and hear strains of Tchaikovsky. I guess they meant that other War of 1812. I suppose I should read the product description beforehand. Anyway, the candle is beautiful and smells lovely. Shipment was fast and as always, customer service is excellent. When the technology permits, perhaps one day we can have a candle commemorating the other War of 1812.

Lol candles

Got the War of 1812 candle for my history buff father. Hilarity ensued. Best possible birthday gift for a man in his 80s. My history geek 17-year old son was totally jealous.

Great candle

My favorite part is when the seat of power of the traitorous Yankees is burned into oblivion. Smells like victory.

History Teachers 2nd Favorite Gift

It is their second favorite gift, because their first favorite gift is simple cash. This was a nice way to score some cool points with teachers who totally got the joke. Very clever and a nice way to let the teachers know the kids they taught could now also get the joke.
