No, you’re not seeing an ocean mirage: The Titanic-Scented Candle features a tiny wax ship slipping beneath the tiny wax waves after tragically striking a tiny wax iceberg.

This looks pretty amazing. But please avoid the temptation to treat it as a timeless work of art and just let it sit on your mantle, or in the center of the dining room table, or on your nightstand. This candle is meant to be burned, and that ship and iceberg are meant to be melted! Then, you can buy a new candle, so that the beautiful cycle of candle consumption continues.

How does the Titanic-scented Candle smell? Well, here is what it does NOT smell like: coal smoke, torn iron, or emergency flares. What it does smell like is water.

Now, I don’t want to get into a whole thing with you, but most “water” or “ocean” candles actually smell like perfume. But we think this one really smells like water!

Now that said, it is pretty faint. If you’re looking for a candle to drown out the odor of your mildewy newspaper collection, or your illicit basement cheese factory, this probably isn’t it.

But if you’re looking for a subtle and delicate scent to enjoy while you quietly contemplate tragedy, then you could not possibly do better than the Titanic-Scented Candle.

Unless there’s a Chernobyl-scented candle out there. Hmm. Maybe we should make a Chernobyl-scented candle.

Wonderful

This is the best Sinking Titanic Candle I have ever seen. It is also the only Sinking Titanic Candle I have ever seen. It's currently wrapped and sitting under my Xmas tree waiting for my Titanic obsessed daughter (it's ok, she's only 34) to unwrap it. Something tells me she will adore it.

It was fine when it left here

As an avid Titanorack, and a former 22-year resident of Belfast, Northern Ireland, I could see the two infamous cranes of the Harland and Wolff shipyard from my childhood bedroom window. And I can say that the only thing more impressive than the actual Titanic (up until day 4 of its life) is this candle. It is utterly enthralling and a delight for any visitor to the house - I mean, who can stop themselves looking into the clear top and following up with an appreciative, "Oooh, that Titanic!" I doubt I will ever burn it - I believe the Titanic suffered enough with, you know, the sinking...it'd be too harsh to them burn the poor dear. Love your work...keep 'em coming.

Best Christmas gift.

I bought this for my boyfriend who's two favorite things are the movie Titanic and candles! It was a huge hit. I couldn't even wait until Christmas to give it to him!

Watery Depths Indeed

I bought this candle with slight trepidation as it does A) depict a horrible maritime tragedy in a waxy and quirky manner, and B) claim to have a faint smell of 'water', which can vary hugely in the crazy fast-paced world of candles. Can you truly capture the wildness of the sea? But as fate would have it no one has judged me harshly for having this candle on my shelf and have instead been delighted by the label and design, and the scent claim is no joke- it smells like WATER. Hard to describe, but it's not like those other 'ozone' or 'salt air' candles that smell perfumy, it is literally -water-. And I like it. I burn it in commemoration and also so my office can smell like water.

My Titanic Candle Review

If you’re looking for something that truly captures an epic tragedy with just the right level of whimsey; this candle is for you! The iceberg, the sinking ship (bodies in the water could’ve been an interesting touch) the vague scent of water (well, that’s what it says but…). This candle is really the complete package. I will eagerly await the Lusitania and Andrea Doria candles to complete my candle three-sink.
