Nothing lasts forever, and that includes the Roman Empire.
The Fall of Rome-Scented Candle smells like cypress trees and red wine. Light it and watch the Roman forum melt into a puddle of wax while you quietly contemplate the impermanence of civilizations and/or candles.
Do you think individual Romans understood that their civilization was collapsing? Or did it happen so gradually that they were able to ignore the warning signs—international trade breaking down, the senate becoming a rubber stamp for the supreme leader, and political violence becoming expected during transfers of power?
It’s hard to say, because it’s impossible to imagine being in that kind of situation. In any event—hope you enjoy the candle!
NOTE: This candle is about the fall of the Western Roman Empire. If you are looking for a candle about the fall of the Byzantine Empire, you are going to have to make it yourself. (It probably won’t be as popular as our candle, but it will outlast it by about a thousand years.)

Excellent to fiddle to.
The candle was a gift for my husband who never shuts up about the fall of the Roman Empire. I love it cause it smells nice. Mostly the customer service was unparalleled. We live outside the USA right now and getting anything mailed to us from the US or to the US has been a dumpster fire since January so when there was a shipping issue I expected the worst, instead the candle arrived early because Kate was so conscientious. It made my husbands birthday that much more fun. Oh! And the gift wrapping was incredible! There was a sticker on it that I guess had something that was on all the manhole covers in Rome or something (I’m sorry my husband was going on and on about it and I didn’t hear a word cause he just looked so happy and handsome that I got starry eyed),
heh yeah the candle smells nice and i am impressed by how beautiful it is. now to simply light it on fire, ruining its beauty.......
Swift and easy delivery, and the candle is both beautiful and smells *amazing*.
Got it as a gift from my brother … hilarious! The packaging, all the pointed historical commentary , made me want to brush up on the Romans - how much do I remember about the Goths? Smells nice but I was a bit sorry to see the pretty green trees melt. Would have loved a tiny Nero playing a fiddle somewhere in there 🙂 historical accuracy meh! Overrated
