Nothing lasts forever, and that includes the Roman Empire.

The Fall of Rome-Scented Candle smells like cypress trees and red wine. Light it and watch the Roman forum melt into a puddle of wax while you quietly contemplate the impermanence of civilizations and/or candles.

Do you think individual Romans understood that their civilization was collapsing? Or did it happen so gradually that they were able to ignore the warning signs—international trade breaking down, the senate becoming a rubber stamp for the supreme leader, and political violence becoming expected during transfers of power?

It’s hard to say, because it’s impossible to imagine being in that kind of situation. In any event—hope you enjoy the candle!

NOTE: This candle is about the fall of the Western Roman Empire. If you are looking for a candle about the fall of the Byzantine Empire, you are going to have to make it yourself. (It probably won’t be as popular as our candle, but it will outlast it by about a thousand years.)

Huzzah! For this Candle Has Succeeded

As his birthday approached, I saw fit to give my youngest a double-dose of candle goodness. I combined this candle with a Ulysses S. Grant candle, and they were both delivered during a particularly stirring dinner at our local 'The Cheesecake Factory' brand restaurant. Beautifully crafted, nicely wrapped.

Many were the joys and vivid was the frolic. We want for nothing.

The perfect gift!

The perfect gift for my friend who teaches Biblical Greek and Latin. The description is so funny and the candle is beautiful too.

This song may be the real reason for the fall of the Roman Empire. (obviously I was not a history major)... anyway, got it as a gift for a candle loving friend. She absolutely loved it, (although she almost died laughing until she realized that wait... this sounds familiar. Great gift, thanks for the humor!

Fall of Rome

I must have received a couple of the last two “Fall of Rome” candles, as I see they’re are now sold out. Anyway, they did arrive in very nice packaging, and were nicely gift wrapped. I haven’t opened them , however, because both are for. Holiday presents. So, you might say that Santa is going to “sack’ them before the fall. And, if you use my joke in your promotions, I should get a free candle! Lol!
